I was so delighted to get the assignment to do Joan Didion for Intelligent Life Magazine. Her apparent frailty in appearance totally belies her continued ferocity. I find her the epitomy of cool.

I love line work. I've always enjoyed trying to capture the essence of someone in the most simplest form possible. This is an incredible illustration of Didion - frail and fierce. You absolutely captured her. Love it!
